Working with real impact at PMCA

Friday, May, 2015

The economics advisory practice at PMCA continues to go from strength-to-strength and it is a great pleasure and privilege to work with clients on so many exciting projects, where our work has real impact.

Recent work at PMCA includes (but is not limited to):

  • Advice to the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry in Ireland – Dr. Pat McCloughan has provided expert economist advice, in the form of briefing papers and sessions to the elected members sitting on the Inquiry, on various aspects relating to the Context Phase of the Inquiry into Ireland’s Banking Crisis (Dr. McCloughan’s advisory work was provided during November 2014-March 2015, and the Banking Inquiry entered into the follow-on Nexus Phase in April 2015 and is expected to complete its work by the end of this year).
  • Economic development strategies for Meath County Council and Leitrim County Council.
  • Economic impact assessment of a proposed major new renewable energy project in the UK.
  • Analysis and assessment of the digital economy in Ireland.
  • Consideration of the prospects for convergence between the digital content and connected health sectors in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
  • Advisory work in regard to a proposed transaction in an EU Member State.
  • Cost-benefit analysis of a proposed major energy/infrastructural project in the EU.

PMCA is also pleased to report that its Managing Director (Pat McCloughan) has once again been listed among the world’s leading competition economists in the Global Competition Review Who’s Who Legal: Competition 2015.  Nomination and listing in this international publication is through independent contact with users of expert lawyers and economists working in the competition field.
