PMCA attends Cross Border Journal Launch

Today (8 March 2011) saw the launch of the Journal of Cross Border Studies in Ireland 2011 at the Stormont Hotel in Belfast.  Dr. Pat McCloughan of PMCA Economic Consulting was pleased to attend.  The annual publication was officially launched by the Northern Ireland Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness MP MLA.  The Journal 2011 is available on the website of the Centre for Cross Border Studies (click here). 

Dr. McCloughan had an article published in the Journal 2010 – on the potential for enhanced strategic collaboration between Letterkenny Institute of Technology and the University of Ulster (available here).  He is currently involved as the external evaluator of the Centre’s INICCO (Ireland Northern Ireland Cross-Border Cooperation Observatory), which comprises EU INTERREG IVA-funded research projects in local authority planning, the border economy, cross-border hospital services, pilot impact assessment of the cross-border dimension in public policy and a website aimed at enhancing information for people and businesses in the Irish border region.  The external evaluation team also includes Indecon International Economic Consultants, London Economics and Philip McDonagh, a Belfast-based economic consultant and former Chief Economist of PriceWaterhouse Belfast.
